The 8th URBAN INNO Project Steering Committee meeting was held in Košice, Slovakia, on 10th October 2018. The meeting was an opportunity for the partners to discuss recent and upcoming activities within the project thematic work packages, management and communications.
The meeting focused for one on the sustainability of the established Quadruple-helix innovation (4UI) networks. The forthcoming task will be the creation of Urban innovation action plans in the target regions to ensure a stable functioning of the 4UI for the next 5 year.
From the regional to the transnational level
Building on the action plans on regional level a transnational urban innovation cooperation strategy will be jointly developed and agreed on by all partners involved. It includes both a financing and implementation plan.
Pilot projects nearly finalized
Another focal point of the meeting was the status of the 9 pilots within the URBAN INNO Project. In the next months, the pilot projects will be finalized and then evaluated. The outcomes will be used to establish lessons learned accentuate best practice examples as well as to improve the participatory methods toolbox. In May 2019, the revised toolbox will be available online in the respective native languages of the partner regions.
