Job Description

You will be working with the Autonomy team on one of our key functions and be responsible for your own work package within one of the following fields:

Your Tasks:

  • Sensors selection, evaluation and fusion
  • Development of alternate navigation concepts
  • Modelling of the navigation system and simulation (i.e. in Simulink, Gazebo, AirSim, etc.)
  • Navigation solutions in GNSS denied environment
  • Detect and avoid capabilities
  • Handling of big data and related data science applications
  • Backend tool development for an Urban Air Taxi Operation
  • Use of external databases (ATM, weather, city maps, …) to optimize the operation of Volocopters
  • Application of computer network techniques for Volocopter operations optimization


· You are currently completing your master studies in computer science, autonomous systems, robotics, aerospace technology or similar

· You are available for at least 4 months

· You are a communicative team player and have organizational and implementation power

· You have a responsible, initiative and solution-oriented way of working

· You have experience with C/C++ and Python or Matlab

· You have experience with at least one statistical toolbox in Python or Matlab

· Experience in Vision, RF or Inertial Navigation is a plus.
